To use the seal you should insert a strap into the flat locking mechanism. Pull to engage the locking mechanism. You can use a pair of scissors, a wire cutter or a tin snip to remove the flat seal. If you want to use your hands, pull the strap until you expose the half of the hole at the locking mechanism. Then bend the metal strap a few times until it weakens and you are done.
